Grown in the mountains of Haraz in northwestern Yemen at elevations reaching up to 2,400 meters, this coffee benefits from cool temperatures, volcanic soils, and generations of farming expertise. These conditions produce coffees known for their vibrant fruit character, elegant acidity, and remarkable complexity.
Over the years, many coffee-growing regions in Yemen saw coffee farms replaced by qat cultivation, leading to a significant decline in the country’s historic coffee production. In Haraz, however, many farming families remained committed to preserving their coffee-growing heritage.
Through their dedication and continued investment in traditional cultivation methods, Haraz has re-emerged as one of Yemen’s most respected specialty coffee regions, producing coffees celebrated for their quality, character, and sense of origin.
